JAMB 2024/2025 application requirements and guidelines

The process flow and registration procedure for the 2024 JAMB UTME/DE have been made public. The e-pin sale for UTME registration is scheduled to start on January 8, 2024, and run through February 24, 2024. While the registration period runs from January 15 to February 26, 2024. The period for Direct Entry e-PIN vending and registration is February 28–March 28, 2024.

In a recent memo signed by the JAMB, it has instituted that there will be no collection of registration fee in cash, this is to curtail extortion of CBT centers from candidates.

Requirements for the JAMB 2024 application:

There will be three (3) types of e-pins: 7,700 Naira UTME with mock UTME; 6,200 Naira for each of Them without a mock and direct entry (de) as follows:

  • UTME/DE jamb application fee - N3,500
  • Reading text (free for only 2024) - free (qr code)
  • CBT center registration charge - N700
  • CBT center examination service charge - N1,500
  • Bank charges - N500
  • CBT mock-UTME center charge - N1,500

Candidates are to specify the type of e-pin required at the point of purchase as no refund would be made.

Is Email required for the JAMB 2024 registration

Before beginning the registration process, candidates must have a working, accessible, and valid personal email address.

When is the deadline for the application

The deadline for UTME candidates, including those from overseas, to register is Monday, January 15, 2024, through Monday, February 26, 2024.


The UTME E-PIN vending period runs from Monday, January 8, 2024, to Saturday, February 24, 2024, with registration closing on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Only the Boards State and Zonal Offices would be the locations for the sale of 2024 Direct Entry (DE) application materials and E-PIN vending, which would start on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, and end on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

What are the Eligibility before applying for JAMB 2024

  • Candidates should make sure they meet the requirements before starting the application process. Candidates can choose from a variety of programmes (courses) depending on their qualifications with the help of the eligibility checker. Go to https://www.jamb.gov.ng, choose Quicklinks, and then IBASS to obtain the free e-copy of the reading text and the e-brochure/e-syllabus. They can also be found through the Google Play Stores Android Mobile App (JAMB IBASS).
  • Five (5) Olevel credit passes, including English Language, are the general entry requirements for 100 level (Year 1) admission into the First Degree, National Diploma (ND), National Innovation Diploma (NID), and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes. Furthermore, programmes in law, science, and social science require credit in mathematics.

Eligibility for DE application

  1. A minimum of two prescribed subjects at the Principal or Advanced level must be completed for each programme (proposed course of study), in addition to obtaining at least five (5) Olevel credit passes at no more than two sittings. Other credentials that can be used in place of ALEVELs are:
  2. Academic Degree: University of Cambridge Alevel; International Baccalaureate (foreign certificates only); National Registered Nurse/National Registered Midwife (NRN/NRM); University Diploma/NFLD; ND/NID; HND; NCE; IJMB; JUPEB; NABTEB-ANBC; NABTEB-ANTC; NABTEB-GCE-ALEVEL (2015–2021). Prior to admission, JAMB REQUIRES AWARDING INSTITUTIONS TO DIRECTLY VERIFY THEIR PRESENTED AWARDS.
  3. All DE candidates are required to supply the following details at the time of registration:
    a) The registration/matriculation number from the prior school attended, where the credential was earned
    b) Qualification subject(s)
    c) Institution of Awarding
    d) The establishment went to
  4. DE candidates, excluding those anticipating results, must ensure the submission of their Alevel qualifications, Olevel results, and DE Registration Template during the registration process.
  5. Admission processing for DE candidates will commence only after the claimed results are uploaded and validated by the respective awarding institutions on the JAMB platform (CAPS MAIL).
  6. DE candidates awaiting Alevel results from UMS/UPER/NAB??? must have already uploaded their Admission Letter and Registration Template during the registration phase.
  7. For applicants holding Cambridge certificates dated pre-2018, verification must be sought directly from Cambridge. The verification process, taking up to 28 days as specified by the awarding body, will result in the information being forwarded to the Board and reflected in the e-Facility profile of the DE candidate.
  8. Statement of results (instead of certificates) is permissible for registration only within three years from the date of award.
  9. The option to upgrade from UTME to DE is exclusively available to candidates awaiting Alevel results at the time of UTME registration. These candidates must have indicated during registration that they await Alevel results, and the relevant particulars must be provided in the uploaded registration template.
  10. Candidates are urged to regularly monitor their A level admission status in their e-facility profile. The status will indicate the outcome of verification by NIPEDS, specifying CLEARED or NOT CLEARED along with the reasons for non-clearance, such as discrepancies in name, grade, subject, etc., which will be explicitly stated.

Note:

  1. Candidates are strictly prohibited from registering more than once. If any errors occur during the registration process, such individuals must rectify the issue through the Board and refrain from submitting a new application, as duplicating applications renders all submissions invalid.
  2. Registration is exclusively permitted at JAMB-approved Centers throughout the country. Any candidate registering outside these approved centers does so at their own risk.
  3. Individuals other than the candidates, including parents/guardians or any representatives, are strictly prohibited from conducting any transactions on a candidates profile. Any candidate who shares their password, profile code, or other security codes with another person, whether it be parents, friends, tutorial teachers, or fraudsters, assumes responsibility for any alterations made by such individuals.
