Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron POSTUTME Screening 2021/2022

This is to hereby inform the general public and prospective students of Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron that the POSTUTME Screening form 2021/2022 session is out.

Interested candidates who successfully sat for the 2021/2022 JAMB Examination, choose the Academy as their First(1st) Choice Institution and score above the required cut-off Mark for POST UTME into various National Diploma (ND) programs of the Academy for the 2021/2022 Academic Session. Below are Cut off marks for different ND Programs:

UTME Cut-off mark

  • Nautical Science – 175
  • Marine Engineering – 175
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering -175
  • Maritime Transport and Business Studies – 160

PROCEDURE FOR MARITIME POSTUTME APPLICATION:

  1. Visit the schools portal >> www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng.
  2. Click on Admission HND/ND Registration Portal
  3. Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password
  4. Generate a Payee ID and Print the Payment Slip
  5. Proceed to any of the banks listed on the dashboard to make payment using eTranzact Payment Platform or pay online(The cost of the application is 2,000)
  6. Return to the Academy Portal to complete your Registration.

MARITIME ACADEMY OF NIGERIA O-LEVEL SUBJECTS AND UTME SUBJECTS COMBINATION

i. NAUTICAL SCIENCE
O-LEVEL SUBJECTS
Applicants Must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include.

  1. Mathematics
  2. English Language,
  3. Physics
  4. Geography,
  5. And any other related Science subjects obtained within the last five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

UTME Subject Combination:

  1. English Language
  2. Mathematics
  3. Geography
  4. Physics

ii. MARINE ENGINEERING AND ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
O-Level Subjects
Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:

  1. Mathematics;
  2. English Language,
  3. Physics,
  4. Chemistry
  5. And any other related Science subjects obtained within the last five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS

UTME Subject Combination:

  1. English Language
  2. Mathematics
  3. Chemistry
  4. Physics

iii. MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS STUDIES

O-Level Subjects
Applicants Must possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include:
– Mathematics,
– English Language,
– Economics,
– Geography/Commerce.
– and any of Geography, Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting and Business Management obtained within the last five years in NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

UTME Subject Combination:

  1. English Language
  2. Mathematics
  3. Economics
  4. Geography/Commerce/Government/ Principles of Accounting

5. PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL FITNESS
Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as the International Convention on Standard of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) as amended which mandates all seafarers to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigors/challenges of the cadetship training. Consequently, shortlisted candidates will be required to present themselves for physical and medical screening when invited.
The candidate should print out Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be duly completed and signed before uploading on the portal.
Candidates are expected to undergo the following medical tests at any Government Hospital and upload medical results on the application portal.

  1. PCV
  2. VDRL
  3. HBV
  4. HIV1/2
  5. PT (Pregnancy Test for Females)
  6. URINALYSIS
  7. GENOTYPE
  8. BLOOD GROUP

The results uploaded on the portal are subject to further confirmation when invited for Screening.

Marital Status Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the program.

Age Limit
Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as of 30th November 2021. – Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as of 30th November 2021.

NOTE:

  • Candidates with incomplete registration will be automatically disqualified.
  • The Academy has zero tolerance for drug abuse, bullying, or any social violence. Please be guided!
