National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) criticize FG budget for 2021 Education

On 7th January 2021, The newly-elected president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Sunday Asefon, had visited the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Correspondents’ Chapel, Ekiti chapter, He stated his disappointment in the incessant strike actions by lecturers, which have crippled academic activities in the country.

Sunday Asefon also disclosed that the association was planning to organize a summit on how to resolve the two critical sectors affecting the country which are the security and education sectors.

The NANS president queried why only 5.6 percent was allocated to the education sector out of a total of N13.6 trillion budgetary provision.

He also pledged that the association under his leadership would invest quality time to advocate for better funding of the education sector which has been neglected because only the children of the poor attend public universities.
