The Texas Tech University Freshman Presidential Scholarship is a merit-based award given to incoming first-time freshmen who demonstrate exceptional academic ability through superior test scores and class ranking. The scholarship covers half of the tuition and fees for both the fall and spring semesters, and it is renewable for up to four years provided the student meets the scholarships requirements.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be an incoming first-time freshman (including those who have taken dual-credit, CLEP, or AP courses)
- Have a high school GPA of at least 3.5 (unweighted) or 4.0 (weighted)
- Have an ACT score of at least 30 or an SAT score of at least 1330 (combined math and reading sections)
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
How to Apply:
- Complete the Texas Tech University application for admission
- Submit all required application materials, including transcripts, test scores, and a letter of recommendation
- There is no separate application for the Freshman Presidential Scholarship; all eligible students will be automatically considered for the award

- April 15th for guaranteed consideration
