Overview
The UN SDSN Climate Actors Accelerator Programme (CAAP) is a year-long initiative designed to empower young Nigerian changemakers between the ages of 18 and 35 to tackle the climate crisis. Its an opportunity for passionate individuals to develop the knowledge, skills, and network needed to drive positive change in their communities and contribute to a more sustainable future for Nigeria.
Programme Objectives
- Equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of climate change science, policy, and solutions.
- Foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the climate action space.
- Build a network of young climate leaders who can collaborate and support each other.
- Empower participants to design and implement impactful climate action projects in their communities.
Programme Activities
- Masterclasses and workshops: Participants will attend sessions led by experts on various topics related to climate change, including climate science, policy, adaptation, mitigation, and finance.
- Mentorship: Each participant will be paired with a mentor who will provide guidance and support throughout the program.
- Project development: Participants will work in teams to develop and implement climate action projects in their communities.
- Networking opportunities: Participants will have the opportunity to connect with other young climate leaders from across Nigeria and the world.
Eligibility
- Be a Nigerian citizen between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Have a demonstrated passion for climate action.
- Be committed to attending all program activities.
- Be able to work effectively in a team.
- Have a basic understanding of climate change.
