USTC Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students 2024

University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) offers two scholarship programs for international undergraduate students:

  • USTC Fellowship: This scholarship is open to all non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport and covers full tuition fees, comprehensive medical insurance, a monthly stipend of 2,500 RMB, and an accommodation subsidy. There are two levels of this scholarship:

    • Level A: Funded by USTC, includes full benefits mentioned above.
    • Level B: Funded by USTC, includes tuition waiver only.
  • CAS-ANSO Scholarship: This scholarship is jointly funded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ANSO) and is open to citizens of ANSO member countries. It covers full tuition fees, a monthly stipend of 3,000 RMB, and an accommodation subsidy.


  • Be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport.
  • Hold a high school diploma (equivalent to a high school diploma in China) by July 2024.
  • Be under the age of 30 by September 1, 2024.
  • Have passed the HSK Level 5 or above (applicants whose native language is Chinese or who can provide proof of studying at a high school where the teaching language is Chinese are exempt).
  • Meet other specific requirements depending on the chosen scholarship program.

Application Process:

  • Applications for both scholarships are submitted online through the USTC International College application system.
  • The application deadline for the USTC Fellowship is April 5, 2024, and the deadline for the CAS-ANSO Scholarship is October 20, 2023.
